What CigarMind is
CigarMind is a free web app for premium cigar smokers. Scan or search a cigar band to identify the cigar, read its blend (wrapper, binder, filler), country of origin, factory, size and strength from a catalog of nearly 9,000 cigars across more than 270 makers, then journal each smoke by thirds and build a palate profile from what you actually taste. It also publishes short, sourced field-guide reads on tobacco, blending and cigar history.
How it works
Scan or search the band
Point a phone camera or desktop webcam at the band, or type the name. CigarMind matches it to a catalog record and says how sure it is.
Read the profile
Wrapper, binder, filler, country, factory, size and strength, each listed as a claim from its sources, with the wrapper explained in plain terms.
Journal the smoke by thirds
Pick tasting terms and their intensity for the pre-light, first, second and final third, add notes and photos, then rate it and decide whether to buy it again.
Stamp the passport
Each finished smoke becomes a Passport Entry. Your Palate DNA builds from those entries and suggests what to smoke next from your own humidor.

Is CigarMind free?
Yes. CigarMind is free, and you do not need an account to identify a cigar or keep a journal. A free account (Google or email) is optional and only syncs your journal across devices. Some deal links may earn CigarMind a commission.
How does the band scanner identify a cigar?
Point your phone camera or a desktop webcam at the band. CigarMind reads the band's text and artwork with a vision model, matches it against the catalog, and labels the result as a likely, possible or weak match. When it is unsure it says so and lets you choose or search.
How many cigars are in the CigarMind catalog?
The catalog holds 9,868 verified cigars from 273 makers. Every cigar has its own page listing brand, line, vitola, length and ring gauge, wrapper, binder, filler, country of origin, factory where known, and strength.
Where does CigarMind's cigar data come from?
Each catalog record is compiled from manufacturer websites, trade press such as Halfwheel, Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Coop, and retailer listings, and it keeps its source links. Only records marked verified are published, and blend details are shown as claims because blends can change between releases.
What does a CigarMind journal entry record?
An entry records the cigar, tasting terms with an intensity for the pre-light and each third, free-text field notes, photos of the band, wrapper, foot, burn and ash, a rating from 1 to 10 in half steps, and whether you would buy it again.
What is Palate DNA?
Palate DNA is CigarMind's profile of your taste, built only from the tasting notes you record in stamped entries, never from marketing copy. It sharpens with every entry and is used to suggest what to smoke next from the cigars in your own humidor.
Where is my cigar journal stored?
On your device first. Entries live in your browser's storage, work offline, and can be exported as JSON from Settings at any time. If you create an account, they also sync to CigarMind's server so you can open them on another device.
How does CigarMind rank cigar deals?
Only offers for the exact cigar, size and package count qualify. Expired, out-of-stock and ambiguous offers are dropped, and the rest rank by listed price per cigar, then how recently the price was seen. Affiliate commission is never a ranking input.
Who is CigarMind for?
CigarMind is for adults 21 and older who smoke premium cigars, from a first cigar to a full humidor. It asks for age confirmation on first visit and never asks for a date of birth.
