Apostate Death Mask Sells Out Before October Ship Date

Apostate Cigars has allocated its entire 250-box production of Death Mask ahead of an October 1 ship date. The cigar is the company's first made outside Tabacalera Palma, rolled at James Brown's Tabacalera Oveja Negra in Esteli using tobaccos from Brown's personal inventory. The blend combines a Mexican San Andres wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder with fillers from Nicaragua and the United States, including broadleaf. It is offered only as a 5.5 x 48 at $20 per cigar. Selling through before release is a strong signal for a boutique brand, though the small run also means most smokers will not see it on shelves. The move to Oveja Negra is worth watching as a possible template for future Apostate limited projects.
