Casdagli Drafts Two More Napoleonic Generals

Casdagli is expanding its Brothers of the Sabre series at InterTabac next week with two blends drawn from the odder corners of Napoleonic history. Custodian honors Sir Hudson Lowe, the British general who spent six years guarding Napoleon on St. Helena; Flamboyant celebrates Joachim Murat, the cavalry commander Napoleon made King of Naples before having him shot. Both come as a 6 x 49 piramide and a 6 x 52 toro at $20 to $24, rolled at the Kelner Boutique Factory in the Dominican Republic with an Ecuadorian wrapper over Dominican, American, and Zimbabwean filler, shipping worldwide from mid-September. The series, launched in 2023 and planned as eight blends over four years, is barely half told. Story-driven boutiques keep betting that deep-cut history justifies premium pricing in a value-leaning market, and so far Casdagli is finding the buyers.
