Christian Eiroa Marks 30 Years With a New Cigar and a Family Reckoning

Christian Eiroa, who spent years shaping Camacho before leaving to build CLE Cigar Co., the Eiroa brand, and Asylum, is releasing the Eiroa Dark 30th to mark three decades in the premium cigar business. A second project, 1916 Tabacalera Eiroa, is also debuting -- its name marks the year the Eiroa family started growing tobacco in Honduras, pushing the family's involvement past a century. Both releases landed in the same month as a long-form interview on Smoke Night LIVE. Eiroa's arc is unusual in this industry: he built another brand's identity from the inside, walked away, and rebuilt from scratch more than once. Honduras does not generate the press Nicaragua does, but Eiroa's commitment to Corojo genetics and traditional rolling has made him one of the few producers whose origin story holds as much weight as the cigars themselves.
