JC Newman has released Diamond Crown Tampa, a Connecticut Shade toro rolled by Tabacalera A. Fuente and sold exclusively at two locations: the company's El Reloj factory store in Ybor City and one retail partner. The cigar measures 6.5 x 52 and carries a Dominican binder and filler under that wrapper. The release marks the 139th anniversary of Tampa's official incorporation as a city, and the packaging leans into local iconography -- the Tampa Theatre, Plant Hall, Bayshore Boulevard, the Gasparilla pirate ship, and the El Reloj building itself all appear on the box. The partnership with Fuente to roll a JC Newman release is worth noting: El Reloj, which JC Newman has operated since 1954, is the last working cigar factory on the historic grounds of Ybor City, the neighborhood that made Tampa the cigar capital of the world in the late 1800s. Limiting distribution to two Florida doors is a deliberate choice that turns a heritage release into a destination purchase, and at a Connecticut Shade spec the profile should be accessible enough to pull in smokers who do not usually hunt limited drops.
