Perdomo Cuts Its Anniversary Box Count to Move Boxes

Perdomo has quietly re-engineered one of its flagship lines: the 30th Anniversary is moving from 30-count boxes to 20-count boxes, with the last of the old format already exhausted. The company says retailers asked for a lower cash barrier, and the math works in the buyer's favor: boxes now run $135 to $155 less than before, while per-cigar pricing on the three blends (Connecticut, Nicaraguan maduro, and Nicaraguan sun grown) stays put between $13.50 and $15.50. It is a clever bit of pricing theater, lowering the sticker without touching margins per stick, and it fits a season of consumer grumbling about $300-plus box commitments. If other houses are watching, the 20-count box may become the industry's pressure valve: same cigar, same price per stick, but a much friendlier number at the register.
