Powstanie's SBC 26 Is a Barber-Pole Passion Project

Powstanie has begun shipping the SBC 26, the latest limited release in the boutique brand's Small Batch Collection. Co-founder Gregg Szczepankiewicz developed the blend, combining an Ecuadorian Sumatra and Mexican San Andres barber-pole wrapper over a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The cigar is a 5 1/2 x 46 corona, rolled at Fabrica de Tabacos NicaSueno in Esteli. Production is limited to 500 twenty-count boxes, or 10,000 cigars, priced at $18 per cigar. Powstanie's SBC releases have become an annual exercise in creative blending, and this one leans hard into wrapper complexity with two visually distinct leaves spiraled around the same stick.
