A Dozen Diademas: Fuente's Rare Black, Rare Purple, and God of Fire Get a Shape Makeover

Prometheus has begun shipping the most ambitious vitola expansion in the Fuente rare-cigar universe this year: diademas for four lines. The OpusX Serie Heaven and Earth Rare Black, the Carlito's X Rare Purple, and both God of Fire KKP offshoots (Never Back Down and Special Reserve) each get three diadema sizes - 7 1/2 x 54, 6 1/4 x 56, and a short 5 1/2 x 60. That is twelve new SKUs arriving in waves: roughly 100 boxes each of a rotating subset hit stores this week, the rest following later in the month. Pricing runs $65 to $67.50 per cigar in 10-count boxes, and the Rare Black wears Dominican wrapper grown on the family's Chateau de la Fuente farm. The curved diadema cut is a showpiece format that rewards patience, which is the point: these are destination cigars for collectors, not weeknight sticks. Expect the usual scramble - Rare Black and Rare Purple allocations never sit long.
