Stolen Throne's Highway Drifter Lets the Filler Do the Talking
Stolen Throne has joined the growing club of blenders betting on the shaggy foot.

Stolen Throne has joined the growing club of blenders betting on the shaggy foot. The company's new Highway Drifter, which began shipping to stores in early September, is its first cigar with an exposed filler tip, a 6 x 52 toro built from an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler at the Rojas factory. Production is small, just 10,000 cigars in 10-count packs at $13 each. Co-owner Lee Marsh frames the cigar as a tribute to outlaws, people and companies that do things their own way. The shaggy foot is not a new trick, but it has moved from Candela novelty to legitimate limited-edition vocabulary over the last few years, letting smokers taste the raw filler before the wrapper joins in. Early stock has been quietly trickling onto shelves since late summer, so this one may require some hunting.
