Tatuaje Goes Back to the TAA Well for 2027

Pete Johnson is reviving one of the most quietly collectible series in his catalog.

Pete Johnson is reviving one of the most quietly collectible series in his catalog. Tatuaje will return to the Tobacconists' Association of America exclusive program in January with a new TAA release, a box-pressed 5 5/8 x 54 covered-foot smoke built around Connecticut broadleaf over Nicaraguan leaf. The run is modest even by boutique standards: 3,000 boxes of 20 cigars, priced at $16 each. The hook is nostalgia. This is a direct homage to the original 2011 Tatuaje TAA, the cigar that started the series, and it marks Johnson's first TAA entry after sitting the program out for a stretch. TAA exclusives live or die on scarcity and shop loyalty, and Tatuaje has a track record of both. Expect these to move fast through member stores in January and show up on secondary markets shortly after.
