Micallef Orange: The Seventh Color Arrives

Micallef Cigars is adding Orange to its Color Series today, making it the seventh regular-production color in a lineup that has become the brand's clearest statement about value. The cigar debuts at Two Guys Cigars in New Hampshire and online before shipping to retailers nationwide on September 5.

The blend follows the series formula of straightforward names and accessible pricing. It wears a Connecticut wrapper over a San Andres Habano binder with fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, and the company calls it medium-bodied. Two sizes will be available everywhere: a 5 x 52 Robusto and a 6 x 52 Toro, both in 25-count boxes.

What the Color Series has figured out is that a color-coded shelf is easier to shop than a stack of fancy names. Each national release, Black, Blue, Red, Purple, Green, White, and now Orange, comes in the same two vitolas at the same two prices. Two Guys Cigars and Smoke Inn also sell exclusive vitolas, but the core idea is that a smoker can pick a wrapper character the same way they pick a paint chip.

Micallef Orange arrives with the timing of a fall reset. A late-August debut gives retailers a fresh SKU to talk about before the holiday buying season, and the September 5 national ship date puts it in humidors right when smokers start restocking. The Connecticut wrapper should also read as familiar to anyone who has been watching the wave of milder new releases this year.
