Nestor Miranda's Private Reserve Lancero Returns the Same Way It Left

Limited-edition cigars that come back usually come back different. The blend is tweaked, the box is redesigned, or the price climbs by enough to remind you that five years have passed. The 2026 Nestor Miranda Private Reserve Lancero is an exception. Miami Cigar & Co. says the cigar is identical to the 2021 release in every measurable way: the same size, the same tobaccos, the same packaging, and the same price.

The vitola is a 6 3/4 x 40 lancero, produced at La Aurora in the Dominican Republic. Miami Cigar & Co. has selected a Dominican Corojo wrapper, a Nicaraguan Criollo '98 binder, and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Brazil. The cigars ship in 10-count boxes with an MSRP of $18 per cigar, or $180 per box. Total production is limited to 500 boxes.

Nestor Miranda has never hidden his preference for the format. 'The lancero has always been my favorite, it is an elegant cigar, simple as that,' he said. 'At the end of the day, I smoke what I enjoy, and this is exactly that.' The statement explains why the company chose to bring back a lancero instead of something easier to sell, and why leaving the specs untouched reads as loyalty to the smoker rather than laziness.

For collectors, the unchanged production run is a small act of conservation. For casual smokers, it is a rare chance to taste something that claims to be exactly what was released in 2021. In an industry where 'returns' often mean 'revisions,' Miranda's decision to leave well enough alone is itself the story.
