Quai d'Orsay Concordia Becomes the First Edición Limitada of 2026

Habanos has revealed the first Edición Limitada of 2026, and the brand it chose is one of the quieter names on the Cuban calendar. The Quai d'Orsay Concordia will carry the extra black-and-gold band reserved for the annual limited series, making it only the second Quai d'Orsay release to do so. The first was the Senadores, part of the 2019 Edición Limitada program.

The cigar measures 5 3/4 x 50, a size Habanos has used exactly once before, for the Montecristo L'Esprit in S.T. Dupont humidors. That repetition is unusual for Edición Limitadas, which are normally defined by vitolas that do not appear in any brand's regular line. The choice suggests Habanos is comfortable stretching a format it has already road-tested, rather than inventing something entirely new for the occasion.

Quai d'Orsay itself is a brand built on diplomatic circumstance. Cubatabaco created it in the early 1970s at the request of Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, then France's Minister of Finance, who wanted a French-named Cuban cigar. The name comes from the Paris quay where SEITA, the French tobacco monopoly, was headquartered. The Concordia name likely nods to the Pont de la Concorde, the bridge that links the Quai des Tuileries and the Quai d'Orsay across the Seine.

A launch event is set for Saturday, October 24, at Las Ventas, the bullring in Madrid, in partnership with Tabacalera, the Spanish distributor for Cuban cigars. Habanos has not announced pricing or exact retail timing. Past Edición Limitada launch events have sometimes put cigars on shelves within days and sometimes left collectors waiting for months.

The Concordia arrives in an unusual year. The Festival del Habano, where Habanos typically announces most new global releases, was canceled in 2026, so news has trickled out in pieces. With two more Edición Limitada releases expected before the year ends, the Concordia sets the tone: a familiar-size Cuban limited release attached to a brand that is far easier to find in Paris than in most humidors.
